Manuel Cabrales Arteaga This language and literature series is aimed at students of the General Certificate of Secondary Education (first class). METHODOLOGICAL FEATURES SGEL´s language and literature for the General Certificate of Secondary Education project features linguistic and literary contents in different units, for otherwise learning would be ineffective at this stage of education. Instead, a successive set-up is suggested: - Twelve units are devoted to communication and language as well as studying the language - Ten units are devoted to studying the literature. At the same time, the authors suggest a smooth development in three large parts: - Textual studies from all points of view to enable understanding and expressing linguistic messages. This section provides intellectual working techniques and the use of new technologies. - Gramar, stressing in a practical way a normative and stylistic use, aiming at knowing the idioms and the way of speaking of the Hispanic communities. - Literature, offering a broad selection of texts as well as comments on some and a reading guide for complete works. The section El lector universal features literary texts written in other idioms and representative of some of the autonomous regions.
